6 Indians in Asian Cadet Boxing finals

New Delhi, June 15 (UNI) As many as six Indian pugilists have reached the semifinals of the Asian Cadet Boxing Championships going on at Hanoi, Vietnam.

In the Women open Boxing Tournament, also taking place in Hanoi, two Indian boxers -- Jahanabi Gogoi (54kg) and Chhoto (50kg) -- have reached the finals and eyeing gold.

In the Asian Cadet event, Bhoopender (48kg), Sunil (50kg), Roshan Singh Kongkham (52kg), Akshay Kumar(54kg), Manjeet Singh (75kg) and Balwinder (54kg) have reached the final and are just one step away from individual gold medals.

Only Nanao Singh Thokchom (46) bowed out in the semifinals, losing to his Kazakh rival, an Indian Amateur Boxing Federation release said here today.
