ULFA behind all attackS: Asom Police

Guwahati, Jun 14 (UNI) Asom Police today asserted with specific information that every single bombing and killing of Asom in the past few years was carried out by ULFA.

Addressing a press conference here today, IGP, Special Branch, Khagen Sharma said that the ULFA tried to portray that it did not target any civilian but only the vital government's installations.

''With 100 per cent sense of responsibility I want to tell you with evidence and investigation reports that every single blast and every single killing was done by the ULFA in the recent attacks.'' ''I do not want to tell all about Machkhowa and the recent blasts incidents, because investigation is on. However, ask me about every blast previous to these series and I will tell you exactly who planted the bomb, how, and on which day. Regarding the latest series, I can emphatically tell you that they were done by the ULFA but I will not tell you who planted the bomb'' he said.

He said that ULFA has made it a habit of accusing others for the killings. '' I can understand that killings and bombings are part of militancy. But do not disown them'' he said.

An impression sought to be given was that SB was working against the peace process. ''The ULFA should not forget that maximum movement towards peace was done in the last five years. The BLT, UPDS, DHD, Adivasi Cobra Militant, Birsa Commando Force and finally NDFB came forward for talks. It is ULFA who has not shown responsibility,'' he said.

He asserted that Asom Police was never soft or would be in future.

''However the situation will change if the ULFA come directly to the negotiating table. Then we can change in the policy,'' he said.
