Two dead, six injured in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, June 14 (UNI) Two people, including a woman and 14-year-old-boy, were killed on the spot and six others injured when a jeep in which they were travelling collided with a stationary truck at Golewadi here early this morning.

The police said accident occurred when a jeep in which the victims were travelling collided with a standing truck.

The victims were residents of Akot town in Akola district in Vidarbha region, the police said.

The injured have been admitted to the government medical college, the police said.

The Chhavani police have registered an offence against the truck driver under section 279, 334, 304 (a) and 427 of the Indian Penal Code after a complaint was filed by a relative of the victim, the police said.

The truck driver has been absonconding, the police added.
