Two arrested for forgery

Chennai, Jun 14 (UNI) Two staff members of the Tamil Nadu Special Police Battalion (TNSPB) Avadi were arrested for alleged production of bogus legal heir certificates and attempt to receive the retirement benefit of a former policeman of the battalion.

Police said Rajendran (34) and his brother Jaisankar (31) working as conservancy staff of the battalion had submitted bogus claims that they were the legal heirs of Mr Natarajan, who died way back in 1984.

When the authorities verified the veracity of the submitted documents they found them to be forged and bogus one.

The two had accepted their crime.

Later, the duo were remanded to judicial custody, police added.
