Train services unaffected during bandh

Patna, Jun 14 (UNI) Train services in Jharkhand remained unaffected on the first day of the two-day Jharkhand bandh called by proscribed CPI(Maoist), East Central Railway spokesman A K Chandra said .

He said to ensure safety of passengers, pilot engines had been pressed into service ahead of all long distance trains while a few trains had been cancelled and some were rerouted.

Meanwhile, IGP(headquarters), Bihar, A K Sinha told UNI that security had been tightened in all the districts bordering Jharkhand in view of the bandh.
