Sensex up on strong Asian market performance

Mumbai, Jun 14 (UNI) Indian bourses have recovered from the depths of negativity today on the basis of strong performance of the Asian markets.

At 1305 hrs Sensex was up 62.96 points at 9125.61 after opening the day in the green at 9156.97 points.

Similarly, S&P CNX Nifty was up by 20 points at 2683.20 in the intra-noon trade.

Major indices are down in red at NSE, CNX IT was down 13.95 per cent to 3361, CNX 500 was down by 10.45 per cent to 2201.4, CNX Midcap 200 was unchanged at 3239.15.

Major gainers on BSE index are Wipro, Reliance Communications, ITC, ICICI, bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto, Cipla, HLL all up between 1.5 to five per cent.

Major losers are - TCS, Infosys, NTPC, HDFC, BHEL, Infosys, all down between 0.5 to 4.5 per cent.
