Sena demands disqualification of three legislators
Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) Chief whip of Shiv Sena Leglslature party Gajanan Kirtikar today filed a petition before State Assembly Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar seeking the disqualification of three Sena legislators against the backdrop of their ''anti-party'' activities and defying the whip.
Talking to UNI, Mr Kirtikar said he has filed the petition against Mr Vinayak Nimhan, Mr Prakash Bharsakale and Mr Vijay Vadettiwar demanding that the three should be disqualified from the House as they were defying the party whip and involved in anti party activities. The three are supporters of Revenue Minister Narayan Rane.
Shiv Sena had issued whip to five legislators during the recently concluded biennial council election that these five legislators should not vote. However, all the five voted during the council elections.
Sena's today's action carries significance against the backdrop of tomorrow's Rajya Sabha election in which Sena, BJP and NCP have extended support to industrialist Rahul Bajaj while Congress has fielded Avinash Pande.
