SBI to enhance services in Mizoram

Aizawl, Jun 14 (UNI) State Bank of India (SBI) has enhanced its services in Mizoram by opening its new branch in Chawngte in Lunglei district in the western belt of the region.

Talking to UNI here today, assistant General Manager SBI Mukul C H Joshi said '' the SBI would also set up three new ATM centres in the capital city at a cost of Rs 50 lakhs''.

In order to improve their existing transactions, the bank has planned to introduce core banking solutions for the first time in the state, he added.

According to an SBI spokesman the new plan of setting up core banking solutions would benefit thousands of customers to transact their accounts from outside the state.

'' All the necessary equipment, including computer systems and software support, are expected to arrive from Pondicherry this week'', he said adding ''a full-fledged core-banking system facility would be operational across the state to our customers within a couple of months''.

Besides this, SBI also has plans to open ten-hour banking system in the main branch to facilitate the customers even to do transactions till 1800 hours in the evening, he said.
