Sania storms into third round of DFS Classic

Birmingham, Jun 14 (UNI) Fourteenth seed Sania Mirza fought off a sprited challenge from American Shenay Perry to storm into the third round of the 200,000 dollar DFS Classic here today.

The world number 41 Hyderabadi teenager, who faced a first round exit in the French Open singles event, won the match 7-5, 6-7, 6-3, according to information received here today.

She will now meet the winner of Americans Mellena Tu and Lila Osterloh in the third round.
