Rs 1.6 crore Horti-scam unearthed
Kohima, Jun 14 (UNI) A total of Rs 1.6 crores, which formed twenty per cent of the subsidy meant for farmers under various projects provided by the Haryana-based National Horticulture Board (NHB), has been fraudulently withdrawn from several banks in Nagaland The Managing Director of the NHB has lodged a written complaint with the Dimapur police alleging a fraud of Rs 1.6 crore.
Official sources said the cost of 75 projects have been cleared by the Bank of Baroda, 17 by the Central Bank of India, which were all found to be bogus. The NHB has filed a case of swindling Rs 1.6 crore. However police investigation was on, sources said.
