Rain in Mizoram deters national editors' meet
Aizawl, June 14 (UNI) The All India Editors' Conference on Infrastructure Issues in the North East scheduled for today here has been called off due to bad weather.
''The editors' meet has been indefinitely postponed due to the inclement weather which prevented the Central officials from arriving in time. It is likely be held in September when the weather would be fine'', Mangjangam Touthang, PIB officer told UNI here.
Officials, including Central ministers, were stranded at Kolkata airport as the flight would not land at Lengpui Airport due to bad weather.
At least two Central ministers, including Union Minister for Civil Aviation Praful Patel, Minister of state for Commerce Jairam Ramesh and more than 100 journalists outside the state were expected to arrive here today for the editors' meet.
The Mizoram government is all set to host the editors with an aim to benefit the first-of-its-kind event as best as it could be.
