Prize instituted for outstanding contribution to Intl politics

New Delhi, June 14 (UNI) A Delhi-based think tank today announced the institution of a prize for outstanding contribution to the theory or practice of international politics, relevant to India.

The Professor M L Sondhi memorial trust and the M L Sondhi Institute for Asia Pacific affairs today instituted the 2006 M L Sondhi Prize to be given annually for "an outstanding contribution, relevant to India, to the theory or practice of international politics".

The prize, to be awarded by a prize selection committee appointed by the trust and the institute, will also include a plaque and an invitation to lecture in Delhi at a convenient time.

Nominations from journalists, renowned faculty members, Parliamentarians and senior government officials should reach the committee by December 1 this year.

Scholars who have published a book or an article in a highly reputed journal can also nominate themselves by December 1.

The nominationa are to be sent to Prof Manish Dabhade of the Center for politics, organisation and disarmament at the school of international studies, JNU, a release by the institute said.
