MP govt resolves to change the state's face

Pachmarhi(MP), June 14 (UNI) Aiming at advising cabinet ministers and party leaders to work keeping in mind the target to form government for the second consecutive time in Madhya Pradesh, the two-and-half-year-old BJP Government's two-day informal meeting concluded here today.

The meeting, which concluded in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP General Secretary Anant Kumar, resolved to bring about overall development in the state in the next two-and-half years.

The ministers were asked not to indulge in activities, which maligned the government or the party, besides giving adequate attention to party workers.

A pledge to change the face of the state was taken. A similar meeting would be organised six months later.

''We have pledged to change the face of the state and we will work together towards this direction,'' Mr Chouhan told reporters here after the meeting.

He said the meeting also aimed at self-analysis and discussed the achievements of the government in the past two-and-half years.

The meeting approved celebrating 'Vikas Parva' between July and November. The details would be chalked out by the party and a final shape would be given at its state executive meeting on July 2.

Expressing satisfaction over the work done by ministers, the Chief Minister said steps taken for development of infrastructure in the field of education, health and agriculture had borne positive results.

However, he refused to provide numbers to ministers. He said the aim was to give best performance and for it was necessary to remove deficiencies.

Mr Chouhan said the government will make people aware about its achievements. In the past two-and-half years, electricity generation had increased by 1,300 MW, while a target had been set to increase electricity generation by 2,400 MW in the next two-and-half years.

A provision of Rs 1,400 crore had been made to develop power sector. Similarly, work on road construction was going on.

Besides the cabinet members, BJP state incharge General Secretary Anant Kumar, State BJP President Satyanarayan Jatia and State BJP Organising Secretary Kaptan Singh Solanki also attended the informal cabinet meeting at this hill station.
