M'shtra govt reduces petrol and diesel prices
Mumbai, June 14: UNI) Maharashtra government has announced reduction in the petrol prices by 80 paise and diesel by 30 paise per litre which will come into effect from tomorrow.
Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Vilasrao deshmukh told reporters that the Cabinet today approved the improved taxes of petrol and diesel under the Value Added Tax.
The state government will suffer a loss of Rs 350 crore due to this decision, he added.
Mr Deshmukh said if the taxes were reduced in the ratio of increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, then it would not affect the revenue while on the other hand, people would be benefitted.
