JAC serves 30-day ultimatum to Lapang

Shillong, June 14 (UNI) The Joint Action Committee of West Khasi Hills has served a 30-day ultimatum to Meghalaya Chief Minister D D Lapang to induct a minister from the district.

At least eight NGOs, under the banner of JAC of West Khasi Hills, served the ultimatum to Mr Lapang after none of the MLAs from the district was represented in the Congress led ministry.

JAC Secretary W Mawsor said the Committee members would meet the Chief Minister soon to press for the induction of any MLA from the district.

Earlier, Meghalaya Assembly Speaker Martin Danggo who represented Langrin constituency in West Khasi Hills district have also expressed his resentment to Chief Minister D D Lapang for singling-out the MLAs from West Khasi Hills district.
