Iran sees nuclear proposal as step forward - Spain

MADRID, June 14 (Reuters) Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said nuclear incentive proposals made by the world's major powers were ''a step forward'', the Spanish government said after the minister met Spanish foreign minister Miguel Angel Moratinos.

Mottaki said Iran's right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes must be compatible with setting adequate guarantees to overcome the concerns of the international community, the statement added.

Fearing that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons, Major world powers have offered Tehran an incentive package designed to dissuade it efrom nriching uranium. Iran insists it only wants to use nuclear technology for power generation.
