Increase in DA for agricultural workers

New Delhi, June 14 (UNI) Agricultural workers will get higher Dearness Allowance (DA) with effect from April 1, according to the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central).

The new rates of variable DA are calculated on six-monthly average of Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers reaching 545 from 526 as on December 31, 2005 in A, B and C category areas.

After the increase in DA, the minimum rates of wages including the basic rates and Variable Dearness Allowance payable with effect from April 1 will range from Rs 119.05 for unskilled workers to Rs 159.67 for highly skilled workers.
