Ghatghar dam completed in 376 days using fly ash
Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has constructed the Ghatghar dam by using the fly ash generated from thermal power projects.
Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh told reporters after the cabinet meeting today that 14,200 cubic metre saddle and other works were completed in 376 days .
The state has achieved tenth number among the world's 290 dams for the fastest completion. In all, 400 dams of such types are under construction thoughout the world.
The Ghatghar project received guidance from world class experts.
Mr Deshmukh also announced that 14 government hospitals and 19 allied hospitals would be computerised.
He also announced that the units which are taking the benefits of the exemption in sales tax would also get the alternative of deferral.
