Emir of Kuwait to visit Pakistan on June 19
Islamabad, Jun 14: Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will arrive here on June 19 on the last leg of his four-nation tour to further boost trade and economic ties.
''The visit reflects strong ties between the two countries which have stood side by side in every hour of need,'' Kuwaiti ambassador to Pakistan Faisal A Al-Mulaifi told a private TV channel.
He said the visit would open new avenues of cooperation for the two countries in the economic, trade, political, cultural as well as investment fields.
The two countries are also expected to sign a number of agreements and Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) to further boost relations in economic trade and commercial fields.
''We believe current level of bilateral economic cooperation does not meet our ambitions,'' the ambassador said, adding Pakistan is a country full of potential and opportunities and Kuwaiti investors are eager to avail the opportunity.
The Emir will be accopmanied by Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Dr.Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Energy Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, Finance Minister Bader Al-Humadhi and Advisor at the Emiri Diwan Sheikh Muhammad Khalid Al-Sabah.
The delegation also includes a team of leading businessmen and investors, senior officials of commerce and finance ministries and representatives from the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
India and Thailand are the other two countries he will be visiting during his four-nation tour.
