Srinagar, June 14 (UNI) The by-election to the Rajya Sabha seat from Jammu and Kashmir will be held tomorrow.

Two candidates Choudhary Mohammad Aslam of the Congress and Mohammad Yousuf Taing of the National Conference (NC) are in the fray.

Mr Aslam has emerged as the consensus candidate of the ruling coalition.

The seat had fallen vacant due to the resignation of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who contested and won the by-elections from Bhaderwah Assembly constituency on April 24.

Mr Aslam, Mr Taing and an independent candidate Mohammad Hassan Parray had filed their nomination papers for the seat.

However, the papers of Mr Parray were rejected after scrutiny leaving Mr Aslam and Mr Taing in the field.
