DUJ resolves to usher in just, equitable information order

New Delhi, June 14 (UNI) The Delhi Union of Journalists (DUJ) will intensify its struggle for a new, just and equitable information order to end unfair labour practices and victimisation of journalists.

The DUJ, at a special meeting, resolved to intensify the agitation from the end of this month.

DUJ president S K Pande condemned the attacks on newspaper workers and the ''ominous signs'' of encroachment into the freedom of association and expression.

''For the first time since emergency a mass scale retrenchment of press persons is increasingly visible even in posts of permanent nature,'' he added.

A mass signature campaign has been undertaken to conjure support for the agitation.

The meeting alleged that the Working Journalists' Act was being violated with impunity with full backing of the Delhi Government.
