Drug prices gone sky-rocketing in Mizoram

Aizawl, Jun 14 (UNI) The Young Mizo Association (YMA) along with other NGOs and the state government have launched a vigorous anti-drug campaign to curb the menace in the state.

According to intelligence sources here, due to the campaign many drug users have done away with their habits as they had no choice due to unavailability of drugs in the market. As a result, illegal drug prices here in Mizoram has increased by five fold,the sources added.

Commenced in January last year, the drug war has continued till date, and is likely to be carried on over the next few years,they added.

'' We have regularly received tip-offs from our informers many of which we have forwarded to the law enforcers'', an NGO leader said.
