David Beckham is Motorola's global brand ambassador

New Delhi, June 14: Motorola has signed Real Madrid's star midfielder and England's soccer team captain David Beckham as its 'global brand ambassador'.

''Motorala, in a three-year collaboration with Beckham, has planned to kick-off with major activities accross Asia, including advertising appearances and extensive retail promotions rolled across the network of its stores and distributors,'' Motorola Mobile Devices Vice-President (Retail Marketing) Jeremy Dale said today.

The deal also includes the ability to embed exclusive Beckham content, like screen savers and video clips of the star in action, in Motorola handsets.

Beckham will commence his brand ambassador role with immediate effect and will be seen exclusively carrying Motorola products during the upcoming World Cup campaign, a company statement said.

The soccer icon will also be supporting other important Motorola initiatives, including the newly launched (MOTO)RED cellphone created to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.
