Court adjourns hearing on anticipatory bail application

Mumbai, June 14 (UNI) A local court today refused interim relief to Indipop singer Amrik Singh Mika Singh alias Mika (26), brother of Daler Mehndi, and adjourned the hearing on his anticipatory bail application till Saturday.

Refusing interim relief, Additional Session Court Judge S P Davare observed the absence of Mika Singh and instructed the counsel to ask him to be present in the court on next date of hearing.

Earlier, Additional Public Prosecutor A J Deshmukh objected to the hearing of the application on grounds that the applicant was not present in the court.

Counsel Anand Prakash moved an application this morning seeking anticipatory bail for Mika Singh, fearing his arrest following the molestation case filed by 'item girl' Rakhi Sawant.

In his application, Mr Prakash prayed that the singer was falsely implicated in the case and was innocent.

Rakhi had filed a complaint against Mika for forcibly kissing her on his birthday party on June 11 in an inebriated condition.
