CITU worker killed in a bomb attack
Kannur, Kerala, Jun 14 (UNI) A 24-year-old youth was killed in a bomb attack, allegedly by BJP activists at Punnad, near Iritty, here last night.
According to police, the deceased Yakoob (24), a CITU worker, hailing from Punnad was killed when the assailants threw country bombs at him near his house.
He died on the spot.
Police had arrested Kavesh, Taluk Karyavahak of the RSS and search for the other four involved in the attack was on.
A large number of police personnel, including District Superintendent Mathew Polycarp were camping in the area.
The CPI(M) had called for a hartal in Kizhoor and Chavassery Panchayats today to protest against the murder.
