Tarn Taran, June 14 (UNI) The BJP will continue with its electoral alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) for the next assembly elections in Punjab which are due in February next year.

''The SAD-BJP combine will return to power in Punjab, as the Congress government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh had failed to live up to the aspirations of the people'', BJP senior leader Sushma Swaraj said here today after participating in a 'Istri Conference' organised by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

The Punjab government had failed on all fronts and would be voted out of power by the Punjabis, she predicted. Like the UPA government at the Centre, an Amarinder government had nothing to offer by way of its achievements to the people of the state, she added.

Replying to a question, she said that seat adjustments would be worked out with the SAD at the appropriate time. ''The gives and takes (of seats) will be decided when the time comes,'' she added.

Turning to the UPA, the BJP leader said gross management on the part of the central government had resulted in the sharp increase of essential commodities. The prices were under control when the NDA was in power, but in the last two years these had sky-rocketed, she added.
