BJP takes exception to Khurana's comments
New Delhi, June 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today took exception to the statements of former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana levelling ''baseless'' allegations about late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.
''We deny any such thing happening as claimed by Mr Khurana and express our anguish that a senior leader like Mr Khurana is indulging in such backbiting about a person who is no longer alive,'' BJP Spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
Mr Khurana had claimed that Mr Mahajan had told him a few months before his death that he was not happy about Leader of Opposition L K Advani using the BJP. He also claimed that the late leader had expressed his intentions to float a Mumbai specific trust and devote more time for his family.
He also declined to comment on the statements of Praveen Mahajan to the visual medium about his brother's household.
Mr Prasad also declined to be drawn about the 'selective leaks' of Delhi police concerning Rahul Mahajan. Let the law take its course and the BJP expected the police to work transparently and objectively, he added.
