Allahabad University Prof commits suicide by shooting self

Allahabad, Jun 14 (UNI) An Allahabad University (AU) Professor committed suicide by shooting himself from his licensed revolver at his Kareli residence here this morning.

The deceased was identified as Prof Anwar Ahmad Siddiqui, a Professor of Commerce, AU.

According to police, he was suffering from tuberculosis for the past several years.

Prof Siddiqui is survived by his two wives, two sons and two daughters.

A large number of AU teachers gathered at his residence to condole the death.
