Warrant against publisher, editor in Preity Zinta defamation case
Mumbai, June 13 (UNI) A local court today issued a bailable warrant against a city-based tabloid's publisher and editor for not being present in the court in the defamation case filed by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta.
Ms Zinta had filed this case after the tabloid published the reported telephonic conversation between Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai, in which Salman had reportedly made ''vulgar'' remarks about Preity.
The Metropolitan Court at Girgaum, after issuing a bailable warrant, adjoured the matter till July 11.
According to a forensic lab report, however, the Salman-Ash tapes were not genuine, as the voices in the tapes did not match those of Salman and Ms Rai.
Following this, Ms Zinta had filed the defamation complaint against the tabloid's publisher and editor.
