Two children among four killed in grenade explosion

Hisar, June 13 (UNI) Four persons including two children were killed and five others seriously injured, when a hand grenade exploded this evening at Bhojraj village in the district.

Police sources said that some boys of the village picked up the grenade from the nearby army firing range and brought it to the village. It was while they were playing with the grenade that it exploded, killing four people including two children and injuring five others.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced an assistance of Rs one lakh each for the two men and Rs 50,000 each for the two children who died in the incident.

A sum of Rs 10,000 each would be given to the injured and their medical expenses would be borne by the government.

Senior police and administrative officals and army officers rushed to the village immediately after the incident.The injured children were hospitalised here.
