Trescothick hits century against Ireland
LONDON, Jun 13 (Reuters) Opener Marcus Trescothick scored 113 to pilot England to 301 for seven after the visitors lost three batsmen cheaply in a one-day international against Ireland today.
Trescothick hit 12 fours and put on 142 with Ian Bell who made 80. Both were dismissed by medium-pacer John Mooney who finished with three for 79 in the Belfast match.
Dublin-born opener Ed Joyce was dismissed by Dave Langford-Smith for 10 before captain Andrew Strauss went for four, pulling the first ball from medium pacer Kevin O'Brien to square leg.
Paul Collingwood also went cheaply (10) before Bell and Trescothick turned it around. Langford-Smith finished with three fo 63.
The match is a warm-up for England's one-day series against Sri Lanka which starts this weekend after a Twenty20 international between the two sides on Thursday.
