Strong Centre not possible with poor UP organisation:Congress
Lucknow, June 13 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress has admitted that without a 'reliable organisational' set up in the state, the party could not provide a stable government at the Centre.
Addressing a seminar of minority community representatives here yesterday, AICC general secretary in charge of UP affairs Ashok Gehlot said the biggest challenge before UP Congress was to form a government in the state. ''Without that we cannot provide a stable government at the Centre on it own,'' he opined.
He said efforts would have to be made to strengthen the party organisational structure in UP. ''We will have to work on the ways to achieve the target,'' he said, adding AICC president Sonia Gandhi was ready to give time to UP for the purpose.
Speaking on the occasion, UP Congress president Salman Khurshid said Muslims were getting attracted towards Congress in UP and the party would have to work hard to encash the trend.
He observed there were people misguiding the community and everyone should ensure that such designs do not succeed.
