Sensex 439 pts down at 9036 on profit booking

Mumbai, Jun 13: The markets slid further taking cues from the Asian markets at 13:07 hrs, the Sensex was down 439 points at 9036 and the Nifty was trading at 2653 with a loss of 123 points.

BSE midcap and small cap both indices were down by nearly six per cent.

All sectoral indices were in red.

The BSE metal and auto indices were down at 6.08 pc at 6696.73 and 6.06 pc at 4081.24, respectively.

There were no gainer on Sensex, Nifty indices.

Bajaj Auto, HDFC, Hero Honda, Reliance Energy, GlaxoSmithKline and HCL Tech were top loser on the indices.

Bajaj Auto slides 10.47 per cent. HDFC, GlaxoSmithKline and HCL Tech plunged over seven per cent each.

Reliance Energy was quoting at Rs 401.50, down Rs 25.8. Hero Honda Motors was quoting at Rs 650, down at Rs 57.3.

Hindustan Lever was trading at Rs 187.95, down 4.45 pc from its previous close of Rs 196.70.

Index heavyweight Reliance was trading at Rs 862, down 4.52 per cent from its previous close of Rs 902.80.

Tech major Infosys was trading at Rs 2,678, down 3.48 pc from its previous close of Rs 2,774.65.

Cigarette major ITC was trading at Rs 148.35, down at 3.89 per cent from its previous close of Rs 154.35.

Refinery major HPCL was trading at Rs 216.50, down 3.22 per cent from its previous close of Rs 223.70, brokers added.
