Rupee drop by 11 paise, closes low at Rs 46.03 USD per unit

Mumbai, June 13 (UNI) The rupee today closed softer by eleven paise at Rs 46.03/ per US dollar as compared to the previous close of 45.92/USD.

The Indian currency today opened at Rs 45.96/97 US dollar and in the mid-morning session traded at Rs 46.06/USD.

The six-month forward premia was high at 0.96 as compared to 1.1 per cent on previous day and the one year premia was also high at 1.11 per cent against 1.19 per cent on last day .

RBI fixed the reference rate at Rs 46.04/ (45.88) per USD today.

Rupee was showing a lower against other currencies: Rupee vs Euro was down at Rs 57.78 (57.70), Rupee vs Pound Sterling also came down at Rs 84.55 (84.43) and against yen it was low at Rs 40.08(40.07).
