Polling cancelled in Bihariganj, repolling on June 20

Patna, Jun 13 (UNI) State Election Commission today cancelled the polling in all panchayats under Bihariganj block of Madhepura district.

Repolling in all panchayats in the said block would be held on June 20.

Secretary of the Commission Raghuvansh Prasad Sinha said counting in the concerned Panchayats was to be held on June 12.

But repolling was ordered following large scale irregularities during the counting.

He said District Magistrate of Madhepura had found the locks of the strong room open during the inspection on June 12. The officials had inspected the counting process when villagers and local leaders complained about the partisan role of the personnel involved in the counting.
