Orissa to formulate policy for infrastructure development

Bhubaneswar, Jun 13 (UNI) A new policy on public private partnership will be formulated soon to undertake development of infrastructure from the village level to the state level.

A high level committee, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, today decided to constitute a cell to be headed by the Managing Director of the state owned Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), to go into the details of formulating the policy for public and private partnership in infrastructural development.

Official sources said the policy would be soon placed before the cabinet for its approval. All the concerned departments in the state would also constitute cell which would have three to four core officers to identify various infrastructure development.

Similarly, cell would also be set up at the district level to identify various projects which would be communicated to the Nodal officer of the cell at the state level.

Sources said the government has decided to take up the Rs 690 crores Pitapali-Khurda-Cuttack road and the Rs 882 crores Bhubaneswar-Paradip road under the public private partnership.
