Left parties stage demonstration against petrol price hike
Bhopal, June 13 (UNI) Left parties staged demonstration and sit-in at various places in Madhya Pradesh to protest the hike in petrol and diesel prices.
CPI(M) workers staged a demonstration at Neelam Park here and an effigy symbolising price rise was burnt.
CPI(M) state secretariat member Pramod Mahajan said petrol prices could be brought down by reducing tax.
In a statement here today, the CPI(M) said party workers staged protests across the state. Party workers in Gwalior resorted to 'chakka jam' and courted arrest.
Meanwhile, strike by transporters to protest the hike affected movement of goods.
