Italian firm interested in setting up textile unit in AP

Hyderabad, June 13 (UNI) A delegation led by Mr Ettore Camozzi, Board member of Camozzi Holding Spa, Italy, today called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rajasekhara Reddy and evinced keen interest in investing in Warangal district by setting up a textile manufacturing unit.

Mr Ettore Camozzi elaborated on the specialisation of their group of companies, which had made its mark with 12 different branches.

Their company was drawn by the incentives being given to the industry by the state government and would initially make an investment of Rs 600 crore in the state, an official release said.

Chief Coordinator of Camozzi Textiles Mr A S Rao said the company had chosen Warangal district for its manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh. The proposed unit would take up spinning, weaving and production of both cotton and polyester textiles and garments for both domestic and export with a capital outlay of 120-150 million dollars (approximately between Rs 600-700 crore).

Mr Rao said the project was expected to generate employment to about 4000 people in and around Warangal district and all over Andhra Pradesh.
