Insurance employees hold countrywide general strike

New Delhi, June 13 (UNI) Employees of the four General Insurance companies today held a hunger strike here in protest against the 'anti-employees' policy of the management.

Employees of the National Insurance company Ltd, the Oriental Insurance Company, the United India Insurance company Ltd and the New India Insurance Company Limited were on a hunger strike all over the country, on the call by the General Insurance employees All India Association, to demand immediate restoration of half-day casual leave, additional casual leave, compassionate appointment, withdrawal of increased working hours and negotiation on non-core benefits and PLLI.

In Delhi, the employees held a hunger strike before the head office of the Oriental Insurance Company Ltd at Asaf Ali Road.
