ICICI OneSource sets up BPO centre in North Ireland
Mumbai, June 13 (UNI) ICICI OneSource, India's leading business process outsourcing (BPO) company, announced today that it would invest in setting up outsourcing centres in Northern Ireland, creating over 1,000 jobs in the next two years.
A ICICI OneSource release said here today that the investment, supported by Invest Northern Ireland (INI), is expected to deliver over 28 million sterling ponds in wages and salaries to the local economy by 2008.
ICICI OneSource Managing Director and CEO Ananda Mukerji said, ''We are delighted to be in Northern Ireland and value the support and encouragement we have received from Invest Northern Ireland. We see tremendous opportunities in providing the UK's leading companies with world-class business process management services and will be looking to grow our business rapidly in the coming years. Northern Ireland has a proven track record in providing a large pool of talented people and an extremely conducive business environment and we intend to leverage this to global advantage.'' Northern Ireland Secretary of State Peter Hain MP said: ''This investment illustrates the international confidence in, and the high growth potential of, Northern Ireland's contact centre sector. As the second greenfield investment to be made here by an Indian company, it clearly reinforces Northern Ireland as the most competitive near shore option for companies seeking a base to service Western European markets.
ICICI OneSource's launch in Northern Ireland reflects a second wave of outsourcing. Having recognised the expertise of the best Indian outsourcing companies, organisations are asking them to use that capability to manage outsourced services in the UK.
