Fuel hike:Left parties stage demonstration in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Jun 13 (UNI) The CPI, CPI(M) and their affiliated trade unions today organised protest demonstrations in major district headquarters and other various places across Orissa as part of the nationwide agitation against the steep rise in prices of petrol and diesel.

The demonstrators gheraoed the district collectorate of Cuttack, Ganjam, Balasore and Kendrapada and submitted memorandum urging the prime minister to completely roll back the hike.

At many places also the Orissa Gana Parishad (OGP), the Janata Dal (secular) and the Samajwadi Party joined the agitation with them to lodge their protest against the increase in prices of petrol and diesel.
