Bangalore, June 13 (UNI) The Congress in Karnataka has decided to file a case against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for filing a false affidavit while contesting the 2004 Assembly elections, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly N Dharam Singh announced today.

Talking to reporters here, he said his party would ask the Election Commissioner to take legal action against the Chief Minister for claiming that he owned only 24 acres of land in Ramnagar, while he actually owned 46 acres according to land records.

''We are going to apprise the Election Commission about the difference in the affidavit and land records,'' Mr Singh said.

The Congress leader said he had already asked for a CBI inquiry into the controversial Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor project to probe the land holdings by the Chief Minister and his relatives adjacent to the project.

Earlier, senior Congress and All India Progressive Janata Dal leaders met here to discuss the issue.
