Blast at Manila police camp, no injuries
MANILA, June 13 (Reuters) - A small bomb exploded inside a police camp in south Manila early today, damaging a van but causing no injuries, police said.
A group calling itself ''Citizen and Soldier'' claimed responsibility, they said.
''That group is now the target of our investigation. They are taunting us and doing a good job of it,'' said Manila's police chief, Vidal Querol.
The organisation has also said it was behind a series of minor blasts in the capital last week, including a small grenade attack on a commuter bus used by police and a blast at a police outpost. No one was injured in those explosions.
In statements to media, the group has said the attacks were in retaliation for police violence in breaking up rallies.
Demonstrations by around 5,000 people passed off peacefully yesterday, Philippine independence day, but police used batons and water hoses to disperse a rally by around 200 farmers and students last Friday.
