Assam Govt goes tough on ULFA

Guwahati, Jun 13 (UNI) The Asom Government has finally gone tough on the ULFA and decided to upgrade the intelligence collection against infiltration of extremists to prevent insurgent activities.

The decision was taken at a high level meeting held here today which was chaired by Asom Chief Secretary S Kabilan and attended by high officials of the Army, Police and intelligence agencies.

The meeting also examined the possibility of redeploying security forces to vulnerable areas. The Police, Army and Para Military forces have been asked to step up vigil against terrorist activities.

The government's decision came following six days of mayhem when the ULFA was bombing all over the state and more than 20 bombs were exploded leaving six dead and scores injured.
