BERLIN, June 12 (Reuters) The US government has promised to provide Germany with a full explanation of the suicides of three inmates at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba, a German government spokesman said today.
''The security adviser to the American president, Stephen Hadley, informed the German government over the telephone that the US government will provide a detailed and comprehensive explanation of all circumstances (surrounding the suicides),'' government spokesman Ulrich Wilhelm told reporters.
He said Hadley had spoken over the weekend with Chancellor Angela Merkel's chief foreign policy adviser Christoph Heusgen.
