UP targeting Rs 3,400 cr excise revenue in FY07

Lucknow, June 12 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Excise Department today said it has set a target of collecting Rs 3,400 crore in the financial year 2006-07.

Official sources here said, the department had achieved a remarkable success in collection of revenue receipts.

''Against the target of Rs 290 crore for April, the department realised Rs 328.02 crore receipts -- Rs 38.08 crore more than the target,'' sources added.

Similarly, target of Rs 265 crore was fixed for May 2006, as against which, Rs 266 crore receipts were collected.
