Militants assaulted two villagers

Shillong, Jun 12 : Two persons were assaulted by cadres of Karbi National Volunteers- United People's Democratic Solidarity outfit near Warpung village under Block 1.

Police said the Asom based militants armed with sophisticated weapons entered the village between Asom and Meghalaya and assaulted the villagers-- Kedrick Phawa and Damon Lamare.

Police said the duo have been rushed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya police have registered a case in this connection.
