Trinamool supremo falls ill during rally
Kolkata, June 12 (UNI) Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee today fell ill during a protest demonstration at the central business area in Esplanade.
Party leader Madan Mitra told reporters that Ms Banerjee fainted for sometime at the stage during the demonstration protesting fuel price hike.
''She was given first aid soon after she complained of giddiness during a speech,'' Mr Mitra said.
He said specialist doctors were consulted for her check-up.
Swealtering heat is probably the reason of the illness, he added.
Earlier, Ms Banerjee walked with the supporters through the city roads in the rally.
She was rushed home soon after.
