Shabeer at up old city schools' plight

Hyderabad, June 12 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister Information Minister Mohd Ali Shabeer today took up the cause of schools in the congested old city facing threat of closure for lack of adequate open ground.

Drawing the attention of Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at a campaign against child labour, the Minister said a lot of confusion prevailed over the Government Order issued by the school education department.

It was feared that over 2000 schools in the old city area would have to be closed down. The right signal had to be given to such schools, he added.

Schools Education Minister N Rajyalakshmi assured her agitated cabinet colleagues that she would direct the officials concerned to do the needful.
