New Delhi, Jun 12: A city court today sent Sahil Zaroo, a Kashmiri businessman's son caught in the alleged drugs abuse scandal involving the son and private secretary of the late BJP General Secretary Pramod Mahajan, to judicial custody till June 22.

Special Judge N K Gupta passed the order on completion of his police remand period today.

Sahil was sent to eight days' police remand on June 4, a day after he surrendered to police in Srinagar after a dramatic TV show appearance to claim innocence.

Mr Mahajan's private secretary Bibek Moitra had died while son Rahul was admitted to hospital in serious condition after a party also attended by Sahil and three others on the intervening night of June one and two.

Rahul was arrested on June 5 and sent to two days' police custody a day later. He was sent to Tihar on 14 days' judicial custody on June 8.

Police, which completed questioning Sahil during the eight day remand period, was expected to move court today to press for custody of Rahul once again to interrogate him further in the case.

Based on evidence gathered from witnesses as well as forensic and medical reports, police suspects Moitra died of drug overdose.

Sahil is believed to have brought drugs to the party after purchasing it from a Nigerian drug peddler, also in police custody till June 15.
